pc dilemma - disc to boot failure insert system cd?
pc keeps coming up with disc to boot failure insert system cd. can't seem to get the blue screen with this msg - boot disc doesn't work.
any ideas on how to resolve this. have checked all the wires are plugged into hard drive.

You may need to check your boot sequence of your machine. If you need your CD-ROM or External item recognized first you would have to change the boot sequence. You should be able to get to this when you turn on your machine and hit the delete key to get to the Bios setup screen.
This sounds like the sort of message you get when your hard drive stops working. Your computer can no longer boot from the hard drive so asks for a boot CD as an alternative.
Try a live cd like perhaps Ultimate Boot CD.
