How to transfer text onto plexiglass?

I need to transfer a block of 7x10 text (12 point font) on to a piece of 10x13 piece of regular plexiglass. Note: the size of the text and the size of the plexiglass cannot be changed. I have tried many methods including printing text with a laserjet printer then placing face down on glass, coloring with blender pen and burnishing the back. With this method it took me 5 hours and 6 pens to transfer 2 paragraphs and caused a sore arm. I have also tried to use nail polish remover. I printed the text on acetate and tried to attach it to the glass, but glue and tape are very visible as are the edges of the acetate because it is smaller than the piece of glass. I do not have a way to print on a larger piece of acetate. I need a solution that does not cost a ton of money or use equipment that I may not have access to. Any ideas?

Update:

Yesterday I called the three sign shops that are around (I live in the middle of nowhere) and all of them said they could not help me.

  • Yes, go to a small sign shop that does this type of work. Give them the dimensions you have. go from that: and shop around by calling different places. I suggest that you request vinyl lettering; make them show you how to apply and transfer your layout unto to your plastic panel. Or just let them do it.

    Good luck!
