try to grab their attention or just try to get them invovled, make good eye contant and try to give a few jokes. if you want to become class rep, you'll have to get their attention, they'll have to remember you.

Or you could not be that pretentious brown-noser. The class rep is always some kid who thinks he's the real deal, and who no one can stand.
