Is a CONSTABLE a real police officer?
I work @ McDonalds @ night during the graveyard shift
this CONSTABLE always comes & asks for some free food
the last 3 times I went ahead & gave him what he wanted since im NEW @ the graveyard shift
but is he even a REAL officer?
I dont want to get in trouble for giving away free food just like that
Whats a polite way to tell him I cant do it anymore
Im thinking of saying this...
"i cant hook you up anymore"
" the lady in the kitxhen snitched on me"
I dont know how the other guy does it at night but I cant b hooking u up anymore"
im sorry its nothing against you,but I gotta take care of my job"
What do yall think?
as if working the night shift wasnt stressful enough now I gotta deal with this bullshit
What should I do?

A constable is an old fashioned name for a police officer. It's still used in many former commonwealth countries, and in England.
However, the "policeman's discount" is traditionally only offered to uniformed police officers, so there shouldn't be any doubt about whether he's an actual cop. Security guards don't get that consideration unless they're mall security and your store is in a mall. Plain clothes officers are expected to pay their own way.
Depending on interpretation, it's either a courtesy, or a form of graft (a bribe).
Regardless, it's not your call. Ask your manager or the owner about it. If it's store policy to offer the "policeman's discount", then you just hand over the goods. It's not your problem. If he says you shouldn't then you don't, just say your boss said you can't. It's up to you whether you want to leave out that bit about you giving away merchandise without permission.
Constables are police officers though they are officers of the court. While they can enforce laws like regular officers, their role is to enforce the order of the court. They primarily serve papers and warrants.
As a police officer, I always appreciated the gesture of a resturaunt comping my meal if it was small. We were allowed to take free food if we did not ask and the total was under $5.00. Asking for stuff was against department regulations and could get you fired.
We did have an agreement with a McDonalds that when we had a SWAT call out in the city (emergency call out not routine warrant service) They would provide us with free burgers and fries and a cooler of that orange drink. Not the healthiest food, but when your sitting in the brush for 10 hours waiting for a barricaded subject to surrender you will take it.
It depends on local laws. If it's your company's policy to give free food to police officers, ask your supervisor if that includes constables.
If he were a real cop, he should have arrested you for complicity in theft from your employer. You should be fired and both of you should be in jail.
I would say, "Sorry, but we aren't allowed to give free food out to anyone"
