ALGEBRA PROBLEM PLEASE HELP 10 POINTS?

I have a test next period and I can't seem to figure this question out at all and no one knows how to do it, can anyone please help I'm desperate

This is supposed to be a matrix:

|3x 2|

|3 0|

multiplied by

|2 4|

|1 -y|

Equals

|-10 16

|6 12|

Find the values of X and Y

Please and thanks in advance! 10 points to best answer

Comments

  • |3x 2|.|2..4| = |-10 16|

    |3..0|..|1 -y|....|6...12|

    so, 6x + 2 = -10

    => x = -2

    And, 12x - 2y = 16

    => -24 - 2y = 16

    i.e. y = -20
