Temporary break from marijuana?
I will be heading into my last quarter of college and I plan to not smoke weed that quarter in the possibility that I will be drug tested for a new job. I usually smoke in the evening when everything I need to do is done and I can function w/o it (not a maintenance smoker). What can I expect from quitting weed after smoking almost everyday for the last 4 years? I have taken breaks before for 10 days or so while on vacations and I didn't experience any kind of side-effects, but I will be not smoking for three months and would appreciate any insight.

I would say you will probably be fine. It shouldnt be bad since its not addictive, but you will probably feel weird because your so used to doing it all the time. You might want to try slowing down your use before just completely stopping it so its not as abrupt. Its only three months at the most.
Trust me when i say... this is not easy!! and i commend you for taking this step!.. I've been smoking bud for about 5 years now... at first it wasn't a every day thing... but for the past year... I've been smoking everyday averaging about maybe 5-10 L's a day.. all piff! But i just recently moved from ny to va.. really get my life together.. stop smoking.. go to school.. etc. etc. so far its been a month.. and like you i never been the type that i actually needed bud to function.. It just always provided a good time, comfort, and really truly help relieved stress.. so far this month been ok. here and there i'll think about it... but its not as bad as i thought it would be... in ny i was around it constantly.. now that im in va.. i dont know where to get it from. so im good..
I think the only side effects you are going to have are minor irritability, possible bad mood, and feeling bored a lot.
Expect nothing but missing it. Marijuana is not physically addictive so you will face no withdrawl symptoms. Good for you for being responsible!
if you have quit for 10 days before you should not have a problem. possible problems though are: inability to sleep, decreased appetite, increased stress/anxiety, and mood swings
Depending on your personality you might get too bored and take up drinking. Otherwise, you'll have more money and might be easily irritated.
