Also, if your asthma attacks are so bad that they risk killing you, talk to your doctor about getting an Epipen - An epipen is a spring-loaded epinephrine (adreniline) syringe. If you have a bad attack, you can administer an epipen to yourself & it will help open your airways, & buy you time to get to a doctor/emergency medical facility.
As long as you have regular check ups, and take your inhalers properly then your asthma can be managed and you can live a normal life. Paula Radcliffe (British marathon runner) is an asthmatic and she just proves that nothing is impossible.
