Graphics Card problem?
Hi, i just recently bought a computer and upgraded the graphics to a HD5670. The problem is during games like Supreme Commander and Company of Heroes. I get problems with the screen shutting off during cutscenes and menu screens. I thought at first it was a graphics issue, so i gave it to my friend to test and the games that had problems worked perfect on his comp. The only difference from his and mine is his montior is DVI while mine is VGA so i bought a dongle to make it work on my monitor. Could that be problem or is it a virus like his dad said. BTW it works phenomenal on Dirt 2 and League of Legends. I've also did a virus/malware scan on safe mode(i have win 7 64bit) and got nothing using MS Security essentials. Furthermore Steam seems to be not working eitheir i don't know if its because of the "virus" i have on my computer or it just sucks.

Does your friend have a 64bit operating system too?
Also, latest drivers/same drivers for the graphics card on both PCs?
If all that is the same - then it's probably the way your motherboard accepts your GPU, there's just an issue. And it might be addressed in a BIOS update.
Other things i'd try: make sure you have the latest video codecs installed (that might be what's causing the issue to occur during cutscenes).
Lower your graphics settings ingame.
Another thing - try and adjust your monitor refresh rate, in the advanced settings of your GPU (e.g. if you have an LCD monitor, make sure your refresh rate is something like 60 or 59Hz).
BUT - this shouldn't matter for LCD's, and you probably don't have a CRT.
It's probably not a virus or video cable issue. Try three things; update your graphics card driver, install the latest patch for you game, and if thoughs two don't work try lowering your graphics. Good luck!
