Why do breasts need bra support?

I mean, if you don't wear one what will happen? I hear that if you have like B's or bigger they hurt when you walk or run or something, but other than that, is there really a point to them? what does "support" mean in this case? i have A's i think (since they're pretty small I never tried to measure or anything) and i do sports and they don't hurt (i wear cami's though, so they have built in bra-type things). When I told my friend, who has B's i think, she started freaking out saying that I should wear one. and once it was hot out but I was too lazy to take my sweatshirt off since it really didn't bother me that much, and she accused me of not taking it off because I wasn't wearing a bra, is that really fair? Or do you think she wishes she doesn't have to wear one..? *confused*

thanks for the help!

  • If you have smallish breasts and are comfortable without a bra then you do not need to wear one.

If you are large sized then not wearing a bra can cause back ache, pulled muscles and in summer heat rashes and spots can occur.

And then as you get older there is always gravity to consider.

  • Gradually gravity does it's thing and a bra slows that down.

I am 35, have DD cups and the nipples point downwards a bit and there are streatchmarks at the top. I have had a child and I think I just have big ones anyway but I really with I had spent more money on good support.

Yours are still small and growing and I think that you might feel when they are ready for suport.

Your friend is so used to wearing one now it would feel like going out with no knickers if she didn't wear one and maybe that is why she is freaking.

  • Well i am a size c and my breasts do not hurt when i walk and run or do exercise of any kind. As for you not wearing a bra i do not think this has anything to do with your friend this is totally your decision. If i had small breasts like yours i probably wouldn't wear a bra either, i find them to be pretty uncomfortable, especially in really warm weather.

  • I think smaller breasts can probably be fine without wearing a bra most of the time because they're not as heavy. But bigger sizes definately need the support. The straps and underwire/elastic helps take most the weight off the shoulders/back. Also, it helps prevent them from sagging earlier on in life. I think in the case of your friend that she either thinks you're loose because you're not wearing one or that every girl should wear one - which is completely nonsense, it should be up to the individual.

  • Just wear a bra...trust me, best you get used to it now before you really need it in the near future. You don't HAVE to, and nothing will happen if you don't, but it's better if you do, even though its an opinion. Your friend shoulda just dropped it, I mean who cares if you didn't want to take your sweatshirt off!

  • Simples! They will be hanging around your waist by the time you are 30 if you don't exercise and support them!

  • Nah, some girls are idiots toward each other! Don't mind her ;o)

  • So they dont get granny saggy also you should try to use lube like I always say llllllllube it up!
