How do I warm a bird? (parakeet)?

I know It's a dumb question, but i want to make sure I'll do it right!

  • Birds generally warm themselves, you could wrap your bird up in a towel and simply keep it near you. You could also buy a birdie buddy, or anything similar to that. It's basically a tunnel of fuzz that your bird stays in.

    Don't put your bird near a fire or use a blow dryer.

  • You don't. A budgie is perfectly capable of warming itself up, and does not need the help of artificial light or anything like reptiles.

    If it were injured, for example, a broken wing perhaps, and you needed to keep it warm, you would sit it in an esky on a heating pad. But unless the bird is injured, you do not need to do anything to keep the bird warm.
