I have to write an equation of the perpendicular bisector of the line segment AB
A(-3,5) and B(1,-7).
PLZ help me
AB has gradient:
(- 7 - 5) / (1 + 3)
= - 12 / 4
= - 3
A perpendicular line has gradient 1 / 3.
The midpoint of AB is:
((1 - 3) / 2, (5 - 7) / 2)
= (- 1, - 1).
The line with gradient 1 / 3 through (- 1, - 1) is:
y + 1 = (1 / 3)(x + 1)
y = x / 3 - 2 / 3.
