7th grade emo phase?

I know its just a phase or what not and i went through it when in 7th grade (now a junior in HS) but its really bugging me, earlier today my 7th grade sister drew these colored lines on her wrist representing certain things and one of them meant she was depressed (which i can say for a fact she is not) and i was just infuriated that she (and so many others) drew these lines obviously meant to attract attention to their very serious mental illness that they are pretending to have. They are detracting attention that is deserved by people who are actually suicidal and/or depressed who need help.

I know there isnt really a question here, i just to hear other peoples opinions on these lines and the 7th grade emo phase

Thanks!

  • Its a phase that normally happens in 7th grade and can last as long as 10th grade. Its when you start listening to "emo music"(its a little offensive to call it that. I listen to that music and its is a little annoying when people call it that) like My Chemical Romance and Pierce The Veil and stuff like that. You die your hair as much as Gerard Way if you have the resources. You wear dark colors, band shirts, and flannels along with Vans or Converse. You start ignoring people and getting pissed (only sometimes, though). You might have floppy hair and want gauges and/or facial piercings and this phase is typicly triggered by hearing a My Chemical Romance song (usually Teenagers or I'm Not Okay (I Promise)). These people a lot of the time live on Tumblr and they sometimes ship band members. That's all I can say because this is basically what happened to me and my friends

  • When I was in 7th grade, it was considered the time on gangsta phase. Most of the kids, along with my friends and I, had that type of shxt around. Now, apparently, it's emo, now. Don't get me wrong, I'm 21. But my style changed a lot through out the years. I'm a tomboyish goth and anime type. I like to listen old rap and hip hop, sure. But not the crap of today, nah.
