Computer ram issues [reboot]?

Ive ecently upgraded my pc wich takes ddr1 ram and has two slots so i bought 2 1g chips, raising it from 756m to 2g, now it randomly reboots at all diffrent times, the reboot kinda looks like it flutters away with a quick flash of blue and black like the windows blue screen when you have errors, now my question is; is the ram not getting enough energy because their so much power in the ram? idk im pretty dumb theirs probbably a simple solution someone help thanks ^^

  • First thing is pull out the RAM sticks and make sure you have the right kind. The motherboard's website will have this info. However if you installed the wrong kind then the system probably wouldn't have started anyway.

If you do have the right RAM then make sure they are installed correctly and seated firmly in their slots.

Problem not solved? Then there is a chance the motherboard was damaged when you installed the new RAM.

  • Need to know more about your computer: Make & model...

But typically if your running ddr1, then your moterboard probably only supports 1 gig (total),

or even only supports 500 mb per channel.
