Depo Provera & Pregnancy?

I wasnt sure where to post this question but i just wanted some advice from anyone who has been on depo provera

I am 18 years old and have been on the depo provera for 2 years now. I was due to have my next injection on the 5th missed it and had sex on the 15th..should i go for a pregnancy test? this has happened with me a few times (irresponsible i know...) and i have never been pregnant..my gp said that it can take up to a year to be able to concieve after coming off of depo provera

    you should take a test just for the 'better safe then sorry' modo but depo is known to cause difficulties conceiving up untill a year after you stopped receiving shots. It stays in your system for 6 - 12 months so I certainly wouldn't worry about it. depo is the best birthcontrol next to an IUD so I'd say just wait for the sake of making sure.
