do you think a poor hometown guy can persuade his communite to vote him into congress?

with all the harvard and yale frats sitting in congress and the white house... sending our jobs over seas.. our soldiers over seas.. and letting oil, inflation, and intrest rape us.. isn't it time some of us stepped up to the plate and ran for congress/senate or even president?

Update:

  • Yes, but he would have to get name recognition first. He should join and be active in civic clubs and volunteer activities in his home town and then run for something local.

Once he has made a name for himself, he should try to get a Democratic or Republican nomination for a state office (not governor at first) and climb on from there.

It is true he will have to have a lot of money to run for national office, but he will find donors once he has a lot of name recognition.

Remember, Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer!

  • You have to have money to run. You need start up funds. You can forget about running as an independent. You need to have a Republican or Democrat logo. people don't look much past that. It is easier to look for the party they are in than to actually research candidates positions. People like Churches or parties to think for them. They aren't going to stop and think. I guess my advice is to try and get a party endorsement. Tell them what they want to here then vote the way you want once you get in.

  • Yes, only if you spell communiteee rite.

Our President is doing pretty good during hard times.

  • The first thing that this "poor hometown guy" would have to do is....learn how to spell COMMUNITY correctly.

  • hometown yup, poor no. takes money to campaign.

  • Sure. Go ahead.
