Paranormal investigator?
Im 14 years of age. I live in Pennsylvania and it has quite a few haunted places & it has a few paranormal centers. I never really did good in all grades leading up to this year. I wanna become a paranormal investigator when I get older & I want a little peek on what its like to be in the presence of a ghost. Of course my house creek and stuff but its never been haunted at least that I know of so iv never had experience. So a few questions. What should I go to college for? (of course I need a side job.) Where should I go for a little expierence? Any tips I should know about the job? This interests me and I wanna challenge myself. I would like to figure out the past of an actual spirit, & I would like to turn a 'scary burden' into 'been there done that, iv overcome this fear'. (:

At this point in time paranormal investigations is finally starting to get some respect in the scientific community and thats a good thing. Humans are finally starting to realize that there are things in a limitless universe we cant explain and to think otherwise is plain stupidity. There are courses in parapsychology you can take. Stratford University offers a associates in it aswell as u.c.l.a. If you want to go higher up to a ph.d unfortunately there are very few schools who offer it in the united states most of them are in the europeoon countries. You would also want to take some classes in psychology and photography. It is a very real phenomenon and will continue to grow in the future.
You are to young to start working on a field. Theirs a lot of danger, and I never forgot a TV program that I see at animal planet. The story was about a family that move to a new house and they have 3 dogs everything was perfect until the husband die, one of his daughter searching for her father spirit she enter in abandon building with a few friends, start making EVP recording when she ask questions but the they heard a really growling so everyone run and leave the building all of them where between 17 and 19 years old. After this situation around 1 month the dogs start fighting each other and never did before, they were getting very sick and one of the dog die and the veterinarian found something abnormal. The other dogs start barking every night because dogs can seance bad spirits, negative spirits. The story long short due to the daughter and her friends enter to abandon building the get expose to a demon haunting the that demon following her to her home, Harm the members of the family etc. They research for an paranormal investigator and did EVP record since the session start and they contact the entity with a new device the demon or spirit can talk and a voice can be heard.
It was a demon and want her. ....... You can search information, search for videos in You tube they have a lot just write demons and you wont believe what a camera can capture. Parking lots, office & more.
Dont do anything that you can regret.
Eri is right on when she says there are no degrees and license required. Paranormal investigating is a hobby and not a paying job. Yes, there are parapsychologists that do get paid but those are few and far between and many ghost hunters have started calling themselves a parapsychologist and that is not advisable if you are just a paranormal investigator. Trent Brandon in his book the Ghost Hunter's bible wars about calling yourself this if you are not a real parapsychologist.many paranormal investigators have websites and offer courses and taking these courses, attending weekend workshops or joining an existing ghost club is how most learn. there are two very large societies that most paranormal investigators join and take their workshops or home study courses to learn the ropes so to speak the one I like is http://www.ghostweb.com/ Most people I know like this one http://www.prairieghosts.com/ags.html If you can convince your parents to pay for a correspondence course at any of the ghost societies then you learn exactly what the average paranormal teams know. You can also go to any large bookstore and visit their new age section and they will have many books on the subject.
I'm not an investigator, but I do see the point of involving the church especially in the case of a persons views or comfort when dealing with possesions. If I were a more active member of my church and felt the need to ask advice about becoming an investigator from the pastor, vicar, priest, rabbi - most of them probably would give their blessing because that would be the path I had chosen or rather that G*d had chosen for me. On the other hand they might want to deter me personally because I am a family man and warn me away from chasing demons because of the consequences. A good investigator probably would want some kind of backup - the church (whatever that investigator believed) probably would take over when involving something you couldn't handle. I guess it would be better if one of the clergy shared your interest.
I am also interested in this field of study. I think I'm developing slightly phsycic or paranormal gifts. I can sense gosts and see them all the time. I think I work as a magnet to many spirits. Helps that I think my house is extremely haunted. (I'm also 14.) 👻 But sometimes these experiences are extremely scary, and some spirits seem more vengeful than others. So be careful.
Paranormal investigating is not a real job or a career. It's a hobby. There's no license, degree, or certification necessary - you just start calling yourself one. No real colleges offer degrees or often even courses in it for the simple reason that none of that stuff has ever been shown to exist. It's fiction. Go to college for something that will get you a real job, but if you want to learn how to do this correctly, get a PhD in the sciences (psychology or physics would be a good choice) and learn how to do science the right way, then apply it to anything you want.
Hey I'm here for the first time. I came across this question and I find the replies truly useful. I'm hoping to give something back to the community and assist others too.
take a guess as to why 'ghost hunters' and 'destination truth' are both on the scifi channel and the movie paranormal activity has an alternate ending?
I'm sorry I don't know about this
I think your way to young to mess with such things.
