As a senior citizen do you update your avatar very often?
Or are you happy that the current one expresses your personality and like to leave it as is? Does the avatar even look like you? Or have you changed it so often that you have developed a split personality?
Update:As you can see, I have an appreciation for critters on avatars...
Update 3:A top contributer who changes with the seasons prompted the Q in the first place. I found myself wondering how many do this...

I just changed mine last month. It better reflects my personality but it took me forever to cruse through all the pics and find the background I wanted. It was worth the effort though. Before an update that Answers did about a year ago the avatar I used was unique and no one else had one like it. I had it saved but poof...one update and it's floating around in cyber space somewhere.
At Christmas I might put a wreath on my avatar pic but that's about it. So I guess there isn't a split personality going on with me unless some days when you ask my husband or kids :-)
IMO the pic Thomas chose is great! Rock on Thomas!!
Monthly to quarterly depending on my moods.
I do notice that it affects the tone of answers I receive.
I rotate between 3.
My cartoon, a real photo less than a year old & wild haired photo shopped copy of my drivers license.
I like the anonymity of the cartoon.
The real photo is for when I'm in a good mood & feel humbled as I did when that photo was taken.
I get the meanest replies on the license photo & I can only guess b/c it lacks a smile and I'm rather crazy looking looking in that one. But I use it when I'm feeling rather whacked out & don't care about responses.
I guess I'll change to that one right now.
I am so computer illiterate that I don't know how to post an actual picture. I tried to do the best I could with what Yahoo offered, but the only thing that looks like me is my eyes -- they are green! I was supposed to take a class at the library about computers but because of all the cut-backs, they have discontinued their classes. So, I will remain computer illiterate for a while. We did recently buy a new camera and supposedly I can take a class there -- we'll see.
In 2006 when I opened this account I tried to make my avatar look as close to me as possible. I have changed the background a few times. The hair is off a bit. They don't have an option for gray streaks and thinning, lines around the eyes and mouth, and a double chin, but it's pretty close.
I haven't looked that good in 15 yrs. Still, the hair color is similar because I still have only a few gray hairs here & there. Also, I have a purplish pink knit hat that's sort of similar, & I like to wear it. It captures my spirit, & I look for stuff like umbrellas & raincoats & hats during our winter rainy season. I like to go in & try on the outfits & accessories. I especially like trying on the hat. I think it's fun, like paper dolls for adults. So, yeah, I think I probably change mine more than average. It's yet another game. I have no intent of leaving it like it is. Last summer I had a long summer lavender dress with matching hat & umbrella for strolling through the park, & I intent to find it again.
We do have ducks on our lakes at our park. However, other than that, our park is a bit different, & I'd be more likely to wear jeans & hiking shoes & that sort of thing to walk around the park. In summer, it might be hot, so I might wear shorts but carefully watch out for poison oak. A dress would get caught in the wild grasses & weeds.
So, Y!A is a bit of Fantasy Land & very much a shielded identity. It's not even my name, but I like it. That in itself gives me a bit of a split personality over it. How about you?
I change the wardrobe a few times a year to depict the season. I just changed the other day to take
my avatar out of her parka since our snow is gone for the year and it's begun to warm up. So I my
avatar is dressed for pre spring now. She's at the ocean watching a surf boarder. And she's in a
light jacket and long pants. She wears sun glasses when she's out always, due to a light sensitivity.
And that and a hair cut similar to mine, bear the only resemblance. They need to have more variety
in both hair styles and coloring. Although I am a senior, I do not have a head of grey hair. And yet I
don't have the highlights of the brown hair shown. I have silver strands, not easily seen from afar.
I don't dress radical or really trendy now. I dress comfortable, As does my avatar. You'll never
catch an under blouse hanginig well below an outer shirt or vest, as that trend continues. You will
find me in short sleeved sweaters, and long ones, if need be. These are things that haven't gone
out of style. I don't have the money to shop for clothes anymore, so I am no longer fad conscious.
And I dress my avatar the same way. It's like playing paper dolls to some extent. Something I en-
joyed as a child. Maybe some things, we girls never grow out of.
My avatar looks like I did about 30 years ago. The background and clothes change, the face and hair do not.
Not often. never at all until someone asked why we don't use photos,I then put a photo up for a while. tend to stick with this as it expresses my music taste. Photo will go back for a week or so sometime, just for a change
No , not a single change so far......My avatar seems to look exactly like me except that he is a cartoon, is younger looking, is a little thinner, has more hair, is a bit taller and looks single... Otherwise he & I are identical in looks....lol
