My Dad never comes to my concerts?

I love my Dad, but I'm in a concert band and whenever one of my concerts is on my Dad always has some reason to never come and see me. He is always like you'll be fine, have fun. It's annoying because he always goes to my brother's big band concerts.

So next saturday night the concert I have being practising for all year is on and my Dad isn't going because my brother want's to go to some guitarist concert (so he isn't going either) and my Dad wants to go too instead of mine. I feel so unloved. Any Advice??

Update:

Hey William- I should get a job should I! I'm 13 you nub and in second year so shut your mouth! I play clarinet in a concert band and you could probs not play a triangle!

  • I think you should show him this post. It will show him how much your music means to you and how upset he's making you by being unsupportive. He may not realise what he is doing.

Parents kind of have an obligation to go and see their children's concerts. Doesn't matter how good you are it makes you happy and you want him to be proud of you.

  • Why don't you explain to him how you feel?

Instead of just accepting hsi excuses with your head down, just tell him how you feel and tell him that his presence at your concert would give you a lot more confidence.

Tell him that you'd like nothing more than for him to be there, and if he doesn't want to come, ask him why (apart from his excuses) is it your attitude? Or the music? As long as you find out the real reason maybe he'll start coming. Just make you you tell him how much it means to you.

  • well son I think I can offer you an honest explanation for why your father does not come to your concerts, it could be due to the fact that your music makes him want to tear his eardrums out it is that incredibly awful. Just give it up, stop the madness. Admit that your music is **** and get a real job.
