A movie with Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto no.1?

About 20 years ago a teacher show me a movie, which put me in love with Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1. Unfortunately I don't know the title of the movie. I wish to find it out.

The movie was about a lady teaching a young man piano and preparing him for a big piano competition. In the process, the teacher got sick and became very ill. Due to the illness, she could only listen to the competition on her bed. It was Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto no.1 that was played through out the movie and in the competition.

I hope one day I'll find out the name of the movie and see it again.

    The Great Lie (1941)

    Harold and Maude (1971)

    Humoresque (1946)

    It Started with Eve (1941)

    Last Train to Freo (2006)

    Misery (1990)

    The Music Lovers (1970)

    The Quickie (2001)

    That Midnight Kiss (1949)

The Other Side of Paradise (2009)

    Palindromes (2006)

    Song of Russia (1944)

    Wedding for Disaster (2009)

    The Weekend Murders (1970)

    Who is Bernard Tapie? (2001)

I realise some of these are less than 20 years ago, but hopefully this will help you narrow it down.

  • Tchaikovsky Movie

  • I agree with Del, and I can narrow it down for you.

OUt of that List, its not the Song of Russia.

  • Possibly it was "The Competition"... 20 years ago for that film seems about right.
