It should be approximately 500-1000 calories per day from usual intake in order to lose weight. Nutritional adequacy is difficult to acheive on fewer than 1200 calories a day, and most healthy adults need never consume any less than that.Following the Food Guide Pyramid's minimum suggested servings supplies about 1600 calories, with 30% of calories as fat.A reasonable rate of weight loss for overweight people is 1/2 to 2 pounds a week or 10% of body weight over 6 months.
Only if you are eating double that amount! A calorie is a calorie...if you eat too many and dont even loose half of em, thats how they add up and you gain weight. If you eat 2400 calories, the amount somebody excercise constantly should eat if they are of average height and weight, then loosing 1000 through work out is natural....but um you really must be a marathoner or a sweatin it up for hours in the gym
I don't really get your question if you mean you're daily intake - then I guess subtracting 1000 calories is crazy. If you mean losing 1000 calories a day through excercise then its possible the body expels 1,900+ on daily normal activities adding excercise adds to the loss.

Its not about losing 1000-1500 calories a day
Thats the amount of caloires you can have each day to lose weight.
It would be healthy if you dont work physically, and if you really need to, you can take ONE day off each week where you can eat as much as you like.

If you mean eat 1200-1500 a day, yes, on some weight loss plans, they go for 1200 for women and 1600 for men to lose weight.
go for 1500 calories
3500 calories is one pound. Safe weight loss is one pound a week if you are in good health and eating healthy foods.
You do the math.
