Yugioh 5ds Episode 1?

I was watching the first episode of Yugioh 5ds, and two questions came to mind:

1) How did Yusei normal summon out Sonic Chick face up in Defense position?

2) Why didn't Yusei use Junk Synchron's effect to Special Summon Speed Warrior from his grave, then use his trap to Summon out Sonic Chick? Then he could Synchro Junk Synchron and Sonic Chick for Junk Warrior, and use it's effect to gain 900 attack from Speed Warrior?

    1) In the anime, the rules are a bit different. One of the different rules are that the duelists can summon monsters in face-up defense.

    2) I'm actually not sure myself, and was wondering the same thing...I'm guessing maybe the creators hadn't thought to give junk synchron that ability until after they made this episode. Has Yusei ever used that trap in future episodes?
