Does a emt in CA pay good?

Does a emt in CA pay good to support a family I know they make about 25k to 33 k

  • It depends on what part of California where you are employed. If you work in a high cost of living area like the Bay Area, your pay will probably be higher then in other parts of the state. Expect to make minimum wage or just above it especially when starting out. EMTs generally work more then 40 hours a week which makes up for the minimum wage. As a single person, it will be a decent wage depending on your living expenses. If you have a family, it will be very hard to support a family and you will need to be very frugal with your money.

  • The average EMT salary in California is $17.37 per hour or $36,140. Pay depends on experience and certifications.
