Why is it called a cob web?
Cobweb just refers to any spider web. My dictionary says it is derived from a Middle English word "coppeweb", and "coppe" was used to designate spiders. Over the last 400 years or so the spelling has changed.
A cob web can be made by any and all spiders.
I once was told that cob webs are made by corn spiders....
lol theres no such thing as a cob spider, a cob web is a spider who does not live in the web.
