1993 Honda Civic D16Z6 Timing Problem?
Crank shaft pulley timing marks are lined up at TDC. Cam shaft pulley is about 1/2 a tooth or 1/4 inch before timing mark on cover. Is it ok to turn the cam pulley another tooth if it is past the timing mark? I have to advance the distributor all the way to get 16 degrees BTDC. I am trying to advance timing to 18 degrees.
Update:*THE REASON THAT I AM POSTING THE SAME QUESTION IS BECAUSE NOBODY IS ANSWERING IT CORRECTLY FOR ME..... OR I AM TRYING OR HAVE TRIED WHAT EVERYONE HAS SAID... AND THAT HAS NOT RESOLVED MY PROBLEM, SO I POST IT AGAIN HOPING THAT I CAN GET AN ANSWER THAT WILL HELP ME OUT.....THANKS*

Like I answered in your previous question, your cam gear is likely set incorrectly. The left and right marks on the gear DO NOT line up flat with the head. Only the '92-'95 D15B7 and D15B8 engine have the cam gear line up with the flat of the head/block. You need to line up the bottom mark on the cam gear with a mark on the timing belt cover, like on here: http://spoony.20m.com/cam.html So the "UP" on the top of the cam gear will be tilted slightly towards the front of the car, instead of straight up. That image in the link was taken from the Honda factory service manual that is made by Helms; it is legit. Adjusting it the way I'm saying, will equate for the 1/2 tooth that it's currently off.
