Luggage Transfer UAE Airport?
Dear All,
I am due to travel to Karachi (Pakistan) via Abu Dhabi (UAE). I could have just travelled to Karachi without the the need to go via UAE, however the ticket prices are very expensive if I fly straight to Karachi.
It is cheaper for me to travel to Abu Dhabi and then get another return ticket from Abu Dhabi - Karachi - beleive me, the saving is a lot.
Now the problem is...
When I arrive at Abu Dhabi, I will need to switch the airline. But will my luggage be transferred to the different airline (the one taking me to Karachi) upon request?
Does anyone have any idea?
Alternatively, can I obtain a transit visa in UAE, exit the airport, collect my luggage and re-enter the airport to continue my journey to Karachi?
Awaiting to hear from you.

The check-in agent at your origin can tag your baggage all the way to Karachi, unless you specifically tell him/her to tag your baggage just to Karachi. However, you have to present a ticket or a reservation printout for your Abu Dhabi - Karachi flight for the agent to be able to tag your baggage all the way. Remember, your Abu Dhabi - Karachi sector should be confirmed and not waitlisted; otherwise, your baggage cannot be tagged to your final destination.
You can obtain a visa on arrival at the Abu Dhabi International Airport depending on your nationality (the country that issued your passport). If you qualify for the visa-on-arrival facility, you can exit the airport.
If you are able to do so, I would suggest that you take time out to visit the city of Abu Dhabi. It is a marvelous place, believe me.
If you are travelling on the same airline from abu dhabi to karachi , then there is no need to collect the luggage.
If it is the smae air line from ORIGIN >> ABUD DHABI >> KARACHI
Then you do not need to collect the luggage.
If it is another airline, then you need to tell the person at the counter that you will be taking a connecting flight on another airline and they will then guide you on doing so or will put a special instruction with the baggage.
while you're waiting to stay interior the secured section, i.e. Departure residing room, waiting on your next flight then you somewhat shouldn't ought to clean customs and Immigration. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that with a 13 hour layover this is intense-high quality to work out in case you ought to get some form of excursion or purely take floor transportation to the down city section to take a glance around. consequently you're able to choose to clean customs and the choose arises to look into visa standards, i'm uncertain in case you're able to choose a visa. There are a protracted record of international places that don't require a visa listed on the linked web site.
Ask the airline that you plan on originiating your trip on. If the 2nd airline is one of their sister airlines or codeshare airlines than you should have no trouble having your luggage transferred.
you might consider to mail you suitcase by the mail then you will be sure to receive your luggage.
