My Computer has a "protective" passoword?
Every time i try to download a program such as skype on my Toshiba laptop a window pops up that asks for a "administrative password". I asked my dad what it was and he said he never made a password but he tried the one he always uses and a lot more and it won't let him do it. I can't figure out how to remove that from the computer. I really need it so if you could help i would love it so much thank youu!
Update:I also can't change myself to the administrative user because i need the password still....

If your operating system is Linux then it will sometimes ask for a password, if its a windows operating system then it sounds like you may have a virus or malware ,then follow my instructions below to remove:
1. please follow this link :
http://www.techmixer.com/free-bootable-antivirus-r...
what you need to use is a bootable antivirus removal kit,we use one in the shop unfortuntly it is about £400 a year for updates, this is why i suggest a free one.

there are a few good free ones available to download, just follow the link above. then boot with the software you found and after it has found and deleted or quarantened any threats then move to no2.
2. now download, update and run Malwarebytes malware remover.
3. Now your computer is clean you need a security solution on your computer including Antivirus software and also Malware protection, for mlware I sugest to carry on using Malwarebytes Antimalware, and for antivirus use either a free solution either AVG Free or Avira or buy one of the many availble ,if u go for the later then buy one from a computer shop as they almost always will sell it cheaper.
go to control panel, user accounts and change yourself to an administrator. then you will not need a password, just confirmation
If his account doesn't have a password, then just leave the box blank.
