How do I know if my cpu has a dvd burner?

I have both Sonic MyDVD and Roxio Easy Media Suite 7.5, I down loaded movies off the internet and want to record them. When I try to burn the dvd this message shows, " Recordable Media was not detected. I have both DVD+R/+RW. Can someone help me.

    If your drive is a DVD+R/+RW, then it is a DVD burner. If Roxio is not detecting it, look under the drive settings in the Roxio program and change it to look to the proper letter for that drive.

    when you said "i have dvd +r/+rw" you meant the disk right? otherwise you wouldn't be asking how to find out if you have a dvd burner.

    ok. go to settings -control panel - device manager.

    take a look at the list of componenmts in your computer.

    or just check on the front of your dive and check if it says dvd recorder.

    If you said you have DVD+R/+RW, yes you do have a dvd burner. The error message you got is because you didn't set the drive correctly so it can't be read.
