SD Card/Windows problem?

When I am viewing and/or copying pictures from my sd card, the window will close. Nothing has crashed, and the rest of the computer is fine. It ONLY happens with the pictures. Viewing the video's and music that are on the card is fine.

After the window closes, the computer does not recognize that an sd card is connected. Copying files seems fine until it comes to a picture it cannot read. It then shuts down. I am only able to copy pictures by copying the folder itself. If I open the picture folder the window closes.

I need help! I checked the internet for answers, but they were all dealing with the computer crashing, which does not happen in my case!

Is it an issue with the card, or the pc? I have to use a card reader. Might that be part of the problem?

The sd card is a fairly new PNY Micro SD. The Reader is a MobileMate SD+ from Sandisk.

  • i don't know, it may be a problem with how the picture is displayed in the window? If that's the case, go into View and tell the PC to display details, not large icons or small icons. This way, it won't try to display the picture, just the date and file size, and it may allow you to copy it over.
