What do airlines consider a purse?
I need extra room while i travel to massachusetts with my family. i have a big beach bag, but i don't know if it will be small enough to count as a purse.
Update:i already have a carry on that's holding my clothes n stuff

I fly constantly and I take my carry-on suitcase, my laptop case that slides on it, and the large purse of the day...I carry BIG purses. Sometimes I even add an extra small bag that goes with my suitcase. So I end up with four bags. The trick is the way you hold them. Make sure the carry-on is attached to at least one of the others. Then carry your purse and place it behind your arm so it doesn't even appear you have one. Unless they're really stupid, they don't really care. Have someone in your family hold one for you while you go through the terminal and then take it back. Especially when they're now charging fees for checking in suitcases (ridiculous!!!), it's time to be inventive You'll be fine.
you can usually get away with a big beach bag or similar, I usually carry one and use a smaller purse than normal, then my purse fits inside the bag. You'd be amazed at what people get away with.
Have a good trip!
You're allowed one carry-on and one "personal item." I generally take a backpack with me as my personal item and I've never had a problem with it. As airlines start charging to check bags though cabins are going to fill up more with carry-ons, so I would suggest making sure it can fit under the seat in front of you and you should be fine.
Good luck!
i think any type of bag would be considered as a "carry-on". most airlines let you take one carry-on onto the plane. try fitting as much stuff in it as you can. =]
