Why do I react so strongly to high temperatures?

I'm normally an even tempered, optimistic person, but when I get overheated I become a rather horrible person. My strength fades, my thoughts and words become sarcastic and negative, and my mood drops. Basically I become a complete and total jerk. What's worse is that whenever I majorly overheat for an extended period of time (2+ hours) it can put me out of commission for a few days. I can spend those day(s) feeling exhausted, am slow to physically cool down, lacking any apatite, and feeling just "blah" in general.

Is there a reason that I react to high temperatures in this way? My friends/other family members just get tired and sorta "giggly" when they overheat. Why do I react so strongly to high temperatures?
