I carry a gratitude stone. Its from the film "The secret".I remember to thank god for his gifts and what he is sending when i touch it.I did hear a great way to make a prayer bead s set.You put a bead on for everyone that you love, family, friends, lover, pets, teachers, your prophet, god etc Even atheists can do it.Just sit and remember the love as you touch each one. See how it makes you feel!
Yes, I have a green crystal rosary. It really is very beautiful.
I am not a Catholic, but I had Catholic schooling and upbringing in my formative years and have always kept my rosary from those days..
I do not use it now because the sorts of prayers and meditation I do, do not require needing to keep count.
I have followed Buddhist teachings but have never used a mala. I didn't know what it was and had to look it up just now. So I have learned something new from your question. Thankyou.
I pray (notice the word "pray," not "say") a Rosary just about every day. I meditate on events in the lives of Jesus and Mary, and I think about ways that I can apply the Scriptures that are the basis of the Rosary prayers to my own life. Through the Rosary, I have learned valuable lessons about kindness, compassion, faith, hope, and especially love. And each time I pray the Rosary, the Holy Spirit teaches me something new about God and His will for me. Does that sound like "vain repetition" or "babbling" to you?
I have a glow in the dark rosary that was given to me by my gay ex roommate that was manic depressive, it was great I wore it to night clubs back in the day! I would love to get one now from the 1700 something real antique I love antique and vintage jewelry and a score like that would be a great piece to own
