Is Diet Coke a problem for me?

I have 1, sometimes 2 canned diet cokes a day. Now my entire family is on me about it. Is it really a big deal?

  • Diet coke has aspartame in it which is believed to cause cancer if you over use it. Get diet cokes with splenda in them they are safer and taste better. I like the soda diet rite it has zero everything, caffeine, sugar, calories ect ect.

  • Haha wow, that first girl is very wrong.. DIET coke has no sugar, calories, or carbs. But it is actually bad for you because of all the aspartame in it, it will very slowly kill brain cells. Anyways, i dont see it as a huge deal if you only drink one or two a day, but maybe try to go for real fruit juice instead, or just stick to the regular pop if youre not drinking much. Many things that have no sugar in them have aspartame such as sugar free gum, crystal light ect. Either way, as long as you dont consume a huge amount of it i think its fine.

  • Diet Coke has sugar substitutes in it which are not good for you and the main thing in soda that is not good for you is the acid. Your stomach produces a lot of acid so you don't need all the extra acid that comes from soda. Drinking that much soda will really hurt you in the long run. Try to consume less and less everyday until you just don't need it anymore. You will reap the benefits promise!!

  • You should drink water so you don't gain any weight.If you don't want to just drink unflavored beverages such as water you can drink lemonade so you would have some flavor in it and it wont have a lot of calories.It's only like 30 calories depending on which brand you get.Or my favorite choice is to get some of those low calorie powder that gives flavor to your drink such as Crystal Light so you can have flavor with whatever flavor you want.

  • any kind of pop or soda basically has no nutritional value to it whatsoever. try finding a tea or natural juice to have once or twice a day, I drink a lot of milk and water (milk can be fattening too so I'm trying to cut down a bit)

  • Too much cola drinking could cause you kidney disease, like kidney stones.

    I used to drink many colas per week. I quit drinking cola after I had suffered kidney stone in February of '08. Also cola may cause osteoporosis in woman.

  • Drop coke all together, toxins.

  • well diet coke has more sugar than regular coke so...

    just because it has diet in it doesnt make it true lol.
