Im not asking you to do the problem, I just want to know how to do it.

  • make a box with 4 spots put 100 in the bottom right put the % in the top right put the whole number in the bottom left and you would put the $48 in the top left now you would make an x in the middle and take the 2 numbers that Connect and multiply them so in this case it would be $48 x 100 then you take that number and divide it by the number you have left in the box so it would be $4800 / (divided by) 16 and you have your answer

  • Use the percentage proportion: part/whole = percent/100. For this one, your proportion would be 48/x = 16/100, where x is the total amount of money spent on the vacation. Solve for x by cross multiplying.

  • To figure out how much of a percentage something is of something, you would divide by the percentage. So:

    48 dollars / 16 percent = 300 dollars

    or, 48 / 0.16 = 300

    This is simply reversing the opposite equation, that is, how to find out what 16 percent of 300 is. If 300 times 0.16 = 48, then we can manipulate that equation to find out what 48 is 16 percent of.

    Remember to use 0.16 for 16 percent, since percent is a fraction. 16/100.

  • If your total vacation money is X, then you spent 16% of X or 0.16X on food. Since you know this amount, you can set up the equation:

    0.16X = $48

    => X = $48/0.16 = $300

    Essentially: Since $48 represents 16% of your vacation budget, then the total budget is represented by the amount stated divided by the percentage that amount represents of the total.

  • $48 represents 16% Hence 100% is $48 x (100/16) or $300.

  • Well $48 is just 16%. You need to find the 100% you started with.

    So divide 48 by 16, and then multiply by 100.

  • Let x = vacation money

    0.16 x = 48

    x = 300

    Proof

    0.16 (300) = 48

  • through fact on the start £10.50 became comparable to one 0 five%. yet then taking 5% from the recent determine is going to be distinctive from the 1st determine. in case you think of roughly it of direction 5% of £10.50 isn't comparable to 5% of £10
