Soapless natural shampoo recipe?

I would like to make something from herbs or plants or something (preferably a food item so it will be covered on foodstamps) that will clean my hair, but I don't want to add castile soap.(simply because it is expensive and hard for me to obtain)

I remember some flower or herb that works well in cleaning hair by itself, but I'm not sure what it was. =x

I know of baking soda, and corn starch/ corn meal. (used as a dry 'shampoo')

  • Aloe is good to wash hair and chamomile

you can scrape off the 'jelly' from the aloe leaf and then put it in a blender add a bit of water and a bit of rosemary oil or you can use the herb form of rosemary (or substitute it with the chamomile) blend it all together and you got yourself a natural soap less shampoo

  • Chamomile Tea makes a great cleansing shampoo, as well as lemon juice. You can add yucca root or soapwort herbs, but these are also very hard to find. You may do best buying the chamomile tea.
