Is a 25 mile commute to college too far?
the college that I want to go to is 25 miles away. It's not hard to get there I just need to drive on the freeway pretty much in a straight line and I'm there already!
It takes about 30 minutes to get there on a perfect day, but 45-60 minutes on moderate to heavy traffic days.
Is it too far to commute? the college is reputable but is primarily a commuter school
Update:also, if i commute, i would save over $10000 a year on room and board

That isn't far and the savings are good. The fuel for a year, insurance and repairs to your car might exceed $10,000 though. Mom's cooking will be far better than anything you can get on campus! Quieter too. Dorms are always so noisy. Up to you though. Me? I would stay at home and drive the distance.
25 miles is not bad, but it's not good. If you don't mind being in traffic it shouldn't be a problem. That being said, if you stress out easy, you won't like it at all. I used to commute 30 miles to school, and it took 1 hour in normal traffic. If there was an accident or road construction, it was a nightmare.
Hell no, I got my master's from a school 36 miles away, or about 40-50 minutes on the highway. Plan your schedule so your classes are all within an hour of each other, or on the same day to save gas. Scope out good places to work on homework in between classes.
Dorm life was grand, but no many I know who enjoyed it didn't end up on academic probation.
