Is [email protected] a legitimate, official email address?

I received a supposedly "official notification from the FBI". When I hit reply, this is the email address that came up, instead of the address on the original email. The email was accusing me of terrorist activity, and instructing me to verify certain paperwork if in my possession, or ask for the information on how to obtain the necessary paperwork, if I didn't have it, which of course I do not.

  • It is NOT an e-mail for the FBI. It is a phishing scam. Simply disregard.

Please note, the FBI does not work that way. if they needed to see those documents they would be at your door.

  • It may be a legitimate email address but NOT for the FBI

  • Sounds like a scam... I doubt the FBI would use "@myway.com" as their domain lol. Maybe you should report them to the real FBI.

  • since the FBI is a government agency, their email would have .gov in it. Also, seriously, if the FBI wanted to contact you, they'd be knocking on your door as we speak.
