Growling noise/hum coming from car?
I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu, V6 3.1L front wheel drive automatic transmission. For a couple of weeks there has been a loud hum/ growl coming from the car while moving from what I think is the driver side. it's mostly constant, only gets louder the faster I drive. If I turn right it gets a little worse. I figured it was the hub bearings so I replaced the hub/wheel bearing assembly but it is still there (yes, I checked to make sure I installed it correctly). I inspected the cv boots and they don't appear to be cracked or otherwise broken, and no signs of grease having been splattered around. Nothing rubbing anywhere either. The brake calipers are not stuck either, and when I turn the hub on the drivers side by hand, I think it turns a little more difficult than the passenger side does.
I am guessing the half shaft is bad and needs replaced, but I would like to hear any other ideas as to what it may be. If you can, please include how to inspect and diagnose. Any help would be appreciated.

You could have a bad brake hose. Even though it may look okay it may be collapsed on the inside. the hose is he 2 pieces one and wrapped in rubber on the outside. If the hose collapses the brake fluid pressure can't release and go back to the master cylinder in good time.
