I was a Paramedic for 17 years, so I do have some insight into this.
The Paramedic to RN program would require you to first be a Paramedic. In order to be a Paramedic, you must first be an EMT. So, here is the amount of time needed:
EMT Course = 3-6 months depending on location. Some are as little as 2 weeks, but they are intense and hard to find. Most run about 4 months.
Paramedic Certification = 6 months to 18 months. Most are about 12 months, plus a bit extra for clinical time. The average medic student spends about 30 hours per week in school and clinical.
Paramedic to RN program = 12 months to 2 years. This is where it gets a bit tricky. There are online Paramedic to RN programs that are accelerated and can be completed in 12 months. There are also campus programs that usually take about 18 months. It really depends on your schedule.
So, total time from EMT to RN would be approx. 3 years
LPN to RN info:
LPN Licensing = 12 - 24 months. Becoming an LPN usually takes about 12 months to 18 months. You can do it with, or without a degree. The degree program is usually a 2 year degree.
LPN to RN = 12 months to 2 years. The Paramedic to RN and the LPN to RN program are virtually identical. Both have similar pre-reqs, and both start off at nearly the same level.
Total time using the LPN to RN route = 2 to 4 years.
Now, here is my question for you. Unless you are already an LPN or Paramedic, why not skip them and go straight to the RN program? You can start from scratch and be an RN in less than 2 years!
I'm not sure what you are asking...if you are already an LPN or paramedic. If you aren't and your ultimate goal is to be an RN, I would just go straight to an RN program.
