Algebra 2 assistance please?

I have been on these questions for ages it seems. If you may, please help? This is about Linear Programming.

Graph each system of constraints. Name all vertices. Then find the values of x and y that maximize or minimize the objective function.

1) x + y is less than or equal to 8.

2x + y is less than or equal to 10.

x is greater than or equal to 0.

y is greater than or equal to 0.

Maximum for N = 100x + 40y.

--

2) 2 is less than or equal to x which is less than or equal to 6.

1 is less than or equal to y which is less than or equal to 5.

x + y is less than or equal to 8.

Maximum for P = 3x + 2y.

3) A city wants to plant maple and spruce trees to absorb carbon dioxide. It has $2100 to spend on planting spruce and maple trees. The city has 45,000 ft squared available for planting.

a. Use the data from the table. Write the constraints for the situation.

b.Write the objective function.

c. Graph the feasible region and find the vertices.

d. How many of each tree should the city plant to maximize carbon dioxide absorption?

*The graph is read as follows:

Planting cost of Spruce: $30

Area required for Spruce: 600 ft squared

Carbon dioxide absorption: 650 lb/yr

Planting cost for Maple: $40

Area required for Maple: 900 ft squared.

Carbon dioxide absorption: 300 lb/yr.

Thank you! I had to write out some things due to the symbols not being on my keyboard so I apologize for that. Anyway, I need help solving these problems and would be grateful for any help and tips. Also, if you may explain maximum and minimum for me, I would also appreciate it. Many thanks :) They are 3 separate questions. Thanks!

  • # a million = a million + 6 + 36 = 40 3 because of the fact any type to the 0 ability is a million its a consumer-friendly false impression that aNumber^0 = 0....it does not it = a million....dont belie me google 6^0 #2, you're coping with contraptions and intersections.....discover out what the sign is, i doubt that's below or equivalent to...its is prolly a union or intersection sign....in case you already know what that sign ability that prob is elementary #3 google what an intersection sign sounds like in discrete arithmetic #4 a destructive exponent facilitates you to turn the fraction and alter the sign so a million/(5 ^ -2) == 5^2 which = 25 so that's genuine #6 10x -15 + 4x + 4 == 14 x -11 multiply it out making use of the FOIL rule. and mixed like words. #2 and 3 are extra discrete mathematic oriented... its not likely alg II desire that enables ya.

  • I can"t answer these questions but the site http://www.khanacademy.org/ gives short 5 min lessons on different math subjects. This site helps me a lot since I have a very hard time in math. Hope this helps :-)
