95 camaro problems HELP PLEASE?
i have a 95 camaro that i drove about 60 miles from one designation to another and about half way there the car just completely shut off. i was able to pull over and start it back up but only when i held the key in the ignition forward the whole time( meaning i had to drive with my hand pushed forward on the key the rest of my trip). ive called around to shops and they say it sounds like that starter. whenever i start the vechicle i have to switch it to drive or nuteral so that the so ( the sound your car makes when your cars on but you turn the key ) would stop and i can drive off, but during this whole time i have no radio or cant use turn signals( probably because of the position of the key)....
another issue i have it my coolant tank keys boiling over. i bought a new radator cap that didnt fix the problem. a friend said that i needed the senor for it to be replaced so that the vans will kick on and move the coolant throughout the engine. could it be that is problem has something to do with my above problem since i drove it far?

It really does sound like you have a bad ignition switch. The wire breaks on these and they do exactly what you are describing. AmazingKeys.com has the ignition switch for your 1995 Camaro. You also should order two new keys with it. The keys have a chip on them and you need to make sure you get the correct one. You can see the chip on the key blade in the picture. Here is a picture of the ignition switch and key:
It does sound like the ignition cylinder has died - not the starter - it would make no sense to assume the starter died, since the sound you would have heard would have definitely made you not want to drive!
First look to fix what is going on with the ignition circuit to repair the drive-while-key-is-turned nonsense. Then, fix the problem with the coolant tank. What you may have is that you have a ring failure (or gasket failure) that is resulting in the exhaust gas getting into the coolant - effectively causing a "boil over" when you are actually seeing a problem with one or more failed cylinders. Look to the gasket first - then something worse.
It sounds like your car is a piece of $h!t. I would guess your ignition cylinder is bad and needs to be replaced. That would cause the funny electrical problems with starting and not being able to run the radio.
The coolant tank boiling over is probably because you have a serious problem in your engine. Probably a bad head gasket or a cracked engine head. Either way it is going to cost you a good amount to get it fixed.
If you were good at working on cars, you could fix it yourself to save money. However, if that were the case you wouldn't be asking these questions. If I were you, I would sell that thing for as much as you can.
Your key has a resistor with 2 metal contacts as part of the security system. Make sure both the key and the lock is clean so it makes contact -- wipe inside the lock with alcohol and a q-tip
There is a way to bypass the security system so you will not have any more issues. Basically, you have to install a resistor to a wire in the steering column. ---- search online for GM camaro PK3 bypass
clarify what you mean by holding the key forward, do you mean like all the way to the start position or what? be aware those year camaros have VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) installed factory which has been know to give people issues, you at you dash and see if the theft light is on or blinking.
