mass airflow sensor?

is there a way to tell if your mass airflow sensor is bad?? i am not sure if this if the problem i had the codes read and thats what they said. anyway i have a 95 Camaro Z28 with a 350 engine and it seems fine for the most part once in a while it will miss once and the service engine light comes on. but still drives fine after that. but other times i could be sitting at a light and it will just die. but it starts right back up. any suggestions???

  • Hello Fellow Camaro Owner!

Chevrolet did not have too many issues with the Mass Airflow Sensor on the Camaros.

What we did have an issue with is the Opti-Spark Ignition.

It sounds like that what you are experiencing is the Opti-Spark starting to fail on the car. Mine did this and I had the same symptoms.

This is not going to be an easy job. I would suggest a trip down to Chevrolet and letting them do the work. This job involves the removal of the water pump to get the job done properly.

But before you get into that, I would first suggest that you put in a new set of spark plugs and plug wires.

If it continues after that, then the next step is that Opti-Spark Module.

    Good Luck!

  • Have your car scanned to see why the engine light came on. The light doesn't have to be on in order to scan the ECM. It will tell you why the light came on
