  • Best case, assuming you are in a 4-year high school, is you raise your average 1/4 of the way to your senior year average.

So if you got a 3.5 average senior year, that's a 1.1 difference. 1/4 of that is 0.275, making your ultimate average 2.675

If you got a 4.0 for senior year, you would go to 2.8 as an overall average.

However, the honors class might be weighted differently, maybe an A in that would be 5 points or something.

No matter what, you want to work hard and apply yourself. A Tier 1 school is probably out of reach, but other colleges may take into account your improvement. If you have a 2.8 average, but straight A's in senior year, it suggests that you finally got traction on schoolwork, and if they have a 3.0 requirement, they might waive it.

  • Most likely not. More like a 2.8
