Dell XPS Graphics Card upgrade?
Hello I have an XPS 600 (dell) with a 256Mb 6800 Nvidia Geforce, but sadly this can't handle World in Conflict :'(. The recommended graphics card is a 256Mb Nvidia Geforce 7600 Gt or 8600Gt and above. However I am looking at e-GeForce 8600 GT 1GB GDDR2 Graphics card which is obviously 1Gb instead of a lousy 256Mb. I was wondering, however, if my computer could handle an entire Gb as well as THIS upgrade option. Please post, and many thanks.

If you can afford it, I'd go along with titin265's advice and get the DDR3 version of whichever graphics card you opt for. I, too, would opt for the 512MB graphics card, though you may find in time to come that 1GB may be required for high-end games to be playable.
The information about your computer's specifications (on the following page) indicate that you have two PCI-e x16 slots available, meaning that you can run two graphics cards in SLI mode, if you wanted to, and that your computer comes with a 650 watt PSU (Power Supply Unit). That would easily give out enough power for graphics.
I would get a GDDR3 model they are more stable. Also I would get a 512mb one instead of the 1gb. And this all depends on the slots you have in your computer and your power supply. Like I think the 8600gt requires at least 350w and a pci express x16 slot. So you need to find this info before I can tell you more.
