car dealership problem?

My fiance and I went to get a car and we put it in my name. My income is SSI for my 2 kids but if you ask me my children need a way to go right? Yea but 1 of my kids SSI is in my name and the other is in my fiance's name. I let the dealership know this and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Now it's almost a month later and they are telling me I need to bring the car back because both kids SSI are not in my name just 1. Is this the dealership breaking the contact?

  • No, not at all.

The LENDER has final say, and it'll say so right on the financial contract you signed. The dealership will send the proposal off to several different lenders, who will either accept it, decline it, or accept it with a contingency. Apparently, yours was declined outright. I've seen some take a few weeks for final say.

This isn't unusual, and you don't have anything to hold over the dealer. The car still legally belongs to them (until the lender signs off on the deal), and they can come repo the vehicle. Take it back, start over elsewhere.

  • If anything, YOU are at fault here.

No, they are not breaking contract. You need to either come up with more income, or take the car back. You have no other choice.

  • The lender has denied your loan based on your income. Surely they have all the legal stuff covered in the contract you signed.

  • The ease of financing a purchase is something you give up when accepting welfare.

How about becoming gainfully employed and carry your own weight? Then, there would be financing based on your earnings instead of what to take from welfare.

  • No this is your fault. failure to give the right info.
