I'm writing and essay on Lolita, but I can't decide what word to use to describe the book's subject matter. taboo and controversial don't seem appropriate.
I would agree. Taboo more means that something is improper or unacceptable. In this context, calling pedophilia a taboo subject would more that is considered rude or unacceptable to TALK about it, which I don't think was the meaning you are going for.
"Abhorrent" might work, because it means that the subject causes revulsion or repugnant in people, merely by talking about it. "Unpleasant" is a gentler way to describe it, depending on the tone you are going for.
That finished situation about men being the oppressors and women being the victims is the in elementary words reason i visit imagine of. If there are feminists deliberately protecting up baby abuse of any style, then they could't be seen females or maybe people. this is unhappy that a persons' ideology would override their experience of empathy for an abused baby.
