How to do this calculus problem?

Given the vectors v = -2i + 5j and w = 3i + 4j, determine

1/2 V

w-v

length of w

the unit vector for v

Comments

  • v = -2i + 5j

    w = 3i + 4j

    (1/2)v = -i + (5/2)j

    w - v = 5i - j

    w = √(3i + 4j)^2 = 5

    v_hat = (-2i + 5j) / √(2^2 + 5^2) = -.371i + .928j

    Not too confident about the last one.
