Maximum Processor Capacity Concerning RAM?
Upgrading my motherboard to DDR3 compatibility. I had 6GB DDR2 RAM on my failing DDR2 foxconn motherboard. My processor will be switched from my old motherboard onto my new.
First Question: Will I notice a significant difference between 6GB DDR2 and 6GB DDR3?
Second Question: I have a Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz, will upgrading it to 8GB or more be unnecessary, considering processor's only process what is from RAM?

you have not given the name and model of your motherboard .
considering it's quad core processor , and your motherboard has 4 ram slot . Your motherboard can take up to 16 GB of ram .
Well most modern motherboard can take upto 8 gb of ram without any problem .
well upgrading to 6gb ddr2 to gb ddr3 is worthless , unless if your ddr 2 is 800mhz ram and you are upgrading to 1333mhz ddr3 , it will give slight performance boost that's all .
6 gb is very large amount of ram ,
most of the time you wont be using even 4 gb , so why to upgrade to 8 gb . it's unlikely that you will see performance boost .
well to use ram above 4gb you need 64bit operating system .
