Accidentally sent an email to a professor?

I just accidentally sent an email to my professor (college), thinking it was 1:30 PM and not 1:30 AM. I told her in the email that, I'd been throwing up all morning, mind you it's currently 1:30 AM. And then I said that was why I'm not in class, as in currently. I have that class during 1:00-1:50 PM. And I even said sorry for not sending this earlier in the day. I'm guessing something I ate last night/this morning wasn't good.

I'm using google chrome, and gmail. Is there any way to keep her from seeing it? I marked it as spam in my inbox, but I don't know if that will work. Should I just tell her that I was sick and that's why it sounds so weird?

Update:

If I report it as phishing, will it go away in both of our inboxes?

  • Unfortunately, there is no way to cancel a sent email once it's sent! Like you said, I reckon you should just tell her that you're sick. I'm sure she'll understand. All the best!

  • Gmail (like some other email providers) allow you to unsend letters. Please see the steps on the link below.

  • Nope. Once it sends, you no longer have control over it. In order to access or delete an email in someone else's account, you would have to access their inbox. That's a blatant violation of privacy. So there is really no way to change it.

  • YEA ..U SHOULD JUST TELL HER

  • you can cancel it within some mins there are some optio in gmail, pls check
