I Dont Seem Very Good At This Training Thing But Its Not That I Would Just Prefer For Our Zoo To Tend To Commands Quicker And More Reactively. (If Thats A Word).
Basically Weve Got A Parrot Which We Bought Off Some Woman Last Year Or The Year Before And She Had To Sell Because Her Job Was More Demanding And She Had No More Time To Tend To The Parrot, 'Smokey' He Used To Swear Intensily But Now Hes Calmed Down But Hes Replaced The Swearing With Screaming And A Few Other Animal Noises And Frases.
Anyway Of Teching Him To Be Quiet When Hes Annoying And To Talk To You Better, Like If You Ask Him A Question. Thats Probs Just For The Pros But Still.

Our Amazon is 13 and has never spoken a word (we have had her 18 months now). But, when she gets excited she lets out this very piercing screeching noise - it s horrible . This then causes the African Greys to shout "Shuttup Jasmine you stinker"... which is what we used to shout at her. It doesnt work.
What does work is if we talk to her very quiet and wiggle our fingers to giver her head tickles. We talk very softly and say "ahh baby girly wants head tickles ahhhh". This usually shuts her up immediately.
We are lucky with our greys, they dont make any screeching noises like that but they do have a tendancy to do all their singing, dancing and chattering when you are trying to concentrate on something. You learn to ignore the noise and focus your concentration.

You dont need to start every word with a capital - it makes reading your question harder! Depending on how old your parrot is he may or may not pick up new words and phrases easily. They are very much like children and have a learning period when they are young. Also like children if you react when he screeches or swears he will do it to get a reaction. It is very difficult to ignore a screeching parrot, but you must so he gets the idea that he only gets attention when he's good. Even if you are shouting at him you are reacting to him and he will continue. You can try repeating words and phrases to him and he might pick some up.
If you ignore the bird when the bird is acting up it will learn that type of behavior does not get attention. Only pay attention to the bird when it is doing good stuff. I have quakers and oh man can they be noisey at the worst times. I have simply said to my quakers "QUIET"and walked out of the room. And when they get quiet, I come back in and tell them "GOOD QUIET GOOD QUIET" Then I give them treats in their window bowls. They have learned by my saying this to them and walking out of the room, what QUIET means and how *I* want them to behave. When I have company over, who is strangers to the birds they go off like that, then I tell them QUIET and they settle down right in front of my company. Giving them a WORD to think about and walking out of the room will get their attention sooner than later.
Sorry, parrots scream. Just a fact of life.
But, I will offer this... We have a blue and gold maccaw, and when he screams I just go start talking to him in baby voices and playing with his "feeties" and he usually chills out for at least a little while.
I hope that teknique works for you, but there's no way to make him not scream ever.

Those sites will also help with limiting screaming. Birds like to scream to call to the dawn and dusk but you can limit and elliminate screaming that comes from wanting attention or that is out of boredom.
