The ink from these pens will be semi-transparent, which means there will probably be a *little* bit of the lighter color showing through the darker color. Keep in mind that darker colors will usually over power the lighter colors when you do this.
For example, if you cover yellow with a dark blue, you'll likely get a dark blue-green color...instead of normal green.
It sounds like you are looking for "paint markers" which use a more opaque ink than the Faber Castells. This will allow you to get better blending when coloring on top of another color.
